The religious itinerary on the Churches of the reconstruction was created to highlight the historical and spiritual heritage that arose after the devastating earthquake of 1693, which destroyed much of eastern Sicily. The route unfolds between Tremestieri Etneo and San Giovanni La Punta, touching symbolic places of faith and rebirth such as the Church of San Vito, the Church of Maria Santissima Immacolata, the Church of Sant’Antonio da Padova, the Church of Santa Maria della Pace, and the Mother Church of San Giovanni Battista. Alongside these stand monasteries, chapels, and monuments dedicated to religious figures and saints venerated by the local communities, including Saint John Bosco, Lucia Mangano, and Blessed Gabriele Allegra.
